The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO), in partnership with ActionAid, conducted a three-day Training of Trainers programme on Youth Leadership in Emergencies for members of the Humanitarian Youth Group (HYGP). The training aimed to strengthen their leadership skills and equip them to share knowledge and contribute more effectively to humanitarian response efforts.

The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO), in partnership with ActionAid, conducted a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on “Youth Leadership in Emergencies”, bringing together members of the Humanitarian Youth Group (HYGP). The training aimed to strengthen participants’ leadership skills and equip them to take a more active role in humanitarian response during crises and emergencies.

The training focused on the importance of youth leadership in times of crisis and the role young people can play in supporting affected communities and helping coordinate humanitarian efforts. It also explored how young people can build the skills needed to respond to changing needs and challenges in emergency settings.

Participants explored ways to move beyond taking part in humanitarian activities towards assuming greater leadership responsibilities. The training emphasised developing the knowledge and skills needed to take initiative, work collaboratively and help guide community-led efforts during emergencies.

As a Training of Trainers programme, the initiative was designed not only to build participants’ own capacities but also to prepare them to share their knowledge and skills with other young people. This approach aims to extend the impact of the training beyond the initial participants and strengthen youth leadership capacities within local communities.

The training was held as part of the project “Strengthening the Influence of Palestinian Youth in Humanitarian Resilience Policies and Transformative Response at Local, National and Regional Levels”, implemented by PNGO in partnership with ActionAid. The project seeks to strengthen the role of Palestinian youth in humanitarian action and support their meaningful participation in shaping policies and practices related to resilience and humanitarian response.
